Ease Terms of Service
Effective date: January 5, 2026
Applies to: The Ease mobile application (the “App”) and our website (the “Site”)
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and R^2 LABS (“Ease,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App or Site, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.
1) Who We Are / How to Contact Us
Ease is operated by R^2 LABS, a sole proprietorship in Ontario, Canada.

2) Eligibility (Adults Only)
You must be at least 18 years old to use Ease. By using the App or Site, you represent that you are 18+ and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3) Important Health & Safety Disclaimer (Not Medical Advice)
Ease provides tools for tracking, harm reduction, and motivational support. Ease is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or substance use disorder.
- Do not ignore professional medical advice because of something you read or see in the App.
- Emergency: If you think you may be in danger or are experiencing an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Ease is not an emergency service.
You use the App at your own discretion and risk.
4) Your Account
A. Account creation
You may create an account using:
- email and password, or
- Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In (where available)
B. Account responsibilities
You agree to:
- provide accurate information where requested,
- keep your login credentials confidential,
- notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
C. Account security
We may implement security measures (e.g., lockouts after repeated failed login attempts) to protect users and the service.
5) Your Data and Content
A. Your content
You may input information into the App such as substances tracked, usage logs, urge logs, plans, tags, and notes (“User Content”).
You own your User Content (subject to any rights of third parties).
B. License to operate the service
You grant Ease a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display your User Content only to:
- operate and provide the App,
- maintain and improve features,
- enforce these Terms,
- keep the service safe and secure.
This license ends when your User Content is deleted from our systems, except where we are required to retain limited information for legal, security, or backup reasons.
6) AI-Generated Content
Some content in Ease (e.g., motivational quotes or microcopy) may be generated using AI tools. AI-generated content:
- may be inaccurate or incomplete,
- is provided for general motivational/supportive purposes only,
- is not professional advice (including medical, legal, or financial advice).
You are responsible for how you interpret and use AI-generated content.
7) Subscriptions, Billing, Trials, and Cancellation
Ease may offer paid subscriptions (“Pro”) that provide access to premium features.
A. Purchases through Apple
If you subscribe in the iOS App:
- purchases are processed by Apple (not directly by Ease),
- billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled through your Apple ID and App Store settings,
- we may receive subscription status information (e.g., active/expired) via our subscription provider.
B. Auto-renewal
Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subscriptions typically auto-renew and your account will be charged according to your App Store settings.
C. Free trials (if offered)
If a free trial is offered, it may automatically convert into a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
D. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel in your device’s App Store subscription settings. Refund requests are subject to Apple’s policies and processes.
E. Changes to pricing or plans
We may change subscription offerings over time. For iOS purchases, Apple will present and handle any required notices and consents for price changes as applicable.
8) Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App or Site in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation,
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks,
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except to the extent allowed by law),
- interfere with or disrupt the service (e.g., introducing malware, scraping, abusive rate-limiting),
- harass, threaten, or abuse others, or encourage illegal activities.
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these Terms.
9) Intellectual Property
The App, Site, and all related content and materials (excluding your User Content) are owned by Ease and/or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from our materials except as expressly permitted.
10) Third-Party Services
Ease may integrate with third-party services (e.g., Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, push notifications, subscriptions, AI providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services and do not control their actions.
11) Termination and Account Deletion
A. You can stop using Ease at any time
You may stop using the App at any time.
B. Deleting your account
You may request account deletion through the App (where available) or by contacting support@tryease.app.
Deletion timeline: Once requested, we delete your account and personal data within 30 days, subject to limited exceptions required by law or for security purposes.
C. Our right to suspend/terminate
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- you violate these Terms,
- your use creates risk or legal exposure,
- we are required to do so to comply with law.
12) Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP AND SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee:
- the App will be uninterrupted or error-free,
- any specific outcome from using the App,
- the accuracy of insights, savings calculations, or AI-generated content.
13) Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EASE (INCLUDING R^2 LABS) WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP OR SITE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP OR SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO EASE FOR ACCESS TO THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (OR CAD $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14) Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ease (R^2 LABS) from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:
- your use of the App or Site,
- your violation of these Terms,
- your violation of any law or third-party rights,
- your User Content.
15) Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
You agree that disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App/Site will be brought in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, and you consent to their jurisdiction (except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection laws).
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@tryease.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
16) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., in the App or on the Site) and update the “Effective date” above.
By continuing to use the App or Site after changes become effective, you agree to the updated Terms.
17) Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: These Terms (and any policies referenced, including the Privacy Policy) form the entire agreement between you and Ease regarding the App and Site.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a business transaction.
